AWYAF is a humanitarian organisation dedicated to raising awareness of human rights violations in Iran, with particular focus on the rights of women and young people. At a time when many international organisations are not officially represented in Iran, AWYAF works to expose torture, executions, stoning, and the systematic abuse of human rights carried out by the Iranian regime. AWYAF is an independent, non-profit association funded and administered by survivors of the Iranian regime, alongside Iranian youth in Britain who contribute to its day-to-day activities and campaigns.
Human rights advocacy
The organisation is deeply concerned with the welfare of prisoners of conscience in Iran, including individuals who have been imprisoned for social, ethnic, cultural, political, or religious reasons.
AWYAF’s work includes:
- organising legal and political conferences
- demonstrations
- humanitarian advocacy with members of parliament
- satellite television programmes.
Through these activities, the organisation seeks to expose the continued violation of human rights in Iran and amplify the voices of those affected by repression and injustice. AWYAF supports the establishment of a pluralistic and secular government in Iran and welcomes democratic change led by the Iranian people. The organisation opposes both war and the appeasement of authoritarian rule, and continues to advocate for freedom, dignity, equality, and human rights.

Supporting Refugees & Exiles
AWYAF also supports Iranian refugees and exiles living in the United Kingdom, many of whom have fled persecution and hardship. Particular attention is given to women and children experiencing distress and instability while rebuilding their lives in exile.
AWYAF also supports refugees and exiles by helping individuals access appropriate social, legal, and educational services, assisting them as they navigate life in Britain and rebuild their lives in exile.
