It has been 2 years since flight PS752 was shot down by the IRGC’s missiles just 6 minutes after taking off from Tehran towards Ukraine, killing all 167 passengers onboard. The families of passengers on the Ukrainian flight PS752 gathered at Tehran’s Airport and the crash site on Saturday, January 8, 2022, demanding justice.
They held pictures of their loved ones and chanted “Truth, Justice”. “Justice is not negotiable! We stand firm to bring to justice the criminals in an impartial court.” They said their campaign for justice would continue until the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and IRGC commanders were held to account.
A father, who said he had lost four children, insisted that he would not rest until the responsible criminals were brought to justice. Terrified of a backlash, the State Security Forces attempted to intimidate the families by flying helicopters over their gathering but were met with defiant chants of “get lost” by those present.
The British-Iranian community in London also held a memorial service and protest in front of Downing Street, lighting candles and remembering the innocent lives that were lost. They call on the British government and the international community to hold the perpetrators of this crime to account.
